TAKING A CLOSER LOOK AT 2009 HELLDORADO PARADE / BEHIND THE SCENES
COMMUNITY CHEERING:
Driving through downtown with the float, we saw children to the left and to the right jumping up and down, pointing their little fingers at our float and float banner which described that a 200 acre Railroad Park & Museum with reall train rides is now in the works.
The children's parents held up their arms toward us with a long-lasting 'thumbs-up' gesture, along with an unforgettable facial expression - to please, please 'follow through' with this!!!!
Little did they know, that the LVRRS' Founding Chairman was sitting inside the float truck, watching all enthusiastic public responses while dealing with her own emotional tears, touched and moved by our community's utmost 'vote of approval' and their urgent plea, for us to continue with this important project!
Despite the cruel long-lasting world-wide recession, to this very day the Las Vegas Railroad Society did continue nonstop, with the slogan "We are here to stay" for the Southern Nevada children!
HELLDORADO JUDGES:
Helldorado Parade judges shared the public's opinion & voted in favor of the 2009 LVRRS float design for the Society to win first place for the MOST CREATIVE design. It was an honor, but, we could not have done it without our loyal volunteers and supporters!
